Academic, Writer & Speaker
About
Dr Stephanie Wescott is a feminist academic, writer, and speaker whose work is driving systemic change in how schools and their communities understand and respond to gendered violence and misogyny. Her research is interested in the epistemic conditions that govern our lives, and the relations of power and discourses that shape them.
A former teacher and now lecturer at Monash University, Stephanie’s research and advocacy focus on dismantling the influence of the manosphere in education and advancing gender justice for women and girls globally. She led the world’s first academic study into the impact of Andrew Tate’s influence in schools, which has garnered international media attention and sparked urgent conversations about the rising tide of online misogyny.
Stephanie’s commentary has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, The Conversation, ABC, Channel 9, and international radio outlets such as Dubai Eye. She is regularly invited to speak on expert panels and deliver keynotes for schools, organisations and universities.
